India Sports

mindthegap is particularly proud to be connected to an amazing school in Dharamsala. It was founded in 1998 by the local people, who were driven by the belief that all children, regardless of their social or religious backgrounds, had the right to an education. The school, which began with just four pupils and now provides over 560 children with the hope of a better life, is in desperate need of both financial support and a volunteer workforce.

With a permanent staff of 12 for such a high number of pupils, classroom assistants are needed in a number of subject areas that are taught in English. In addition to your obvious ability to help improve the use of conversational English, we want you to use your strengths. The school particularly requires help teaching PE, with an additional need for running after school clubs for children that board in the vicinity – if you are a fan of cricket, your skills at umpiring will be greatly appreciated by the boys!
